Interesting comments by Rogers, but he seems to think the private sector can solve the problem. Well, the private sector created the problem in large part by not making it possible for 40 million plus Americans to get insurance, so maybe he is right (no chance of it).

But in my law practice I see clients every week who work for a living, usually in blue collar jobs, who have no health insurance. Their employers do not provide it due to the cost and they don't make enough money to buy a private plan--or they have a pre-existing health condition that renders them uninsurable for a price they can afford. This is a societal problem that needs to be addressed. I don't know whether the bills bouncing around in Congress right now are the best solution, but I think something needs to be done to help those Americans.
