Teddy and Mary Jo's July 18, 39th anniversary

I don't know who composed the paragraphs in black below but to honor and respect the Senior Senator from Massachusetts at this time of his illness, I felt we should remember one of his constituents that is conveniently never mentioned. Just goes to show as long as you are for abortion you are a hero in the Democrat Party. Doesn't even matter if it's late term say 29years and 11 1/2 months.

Does anyone but me find it ironic that Teddy bloviates about dunking a terrorist in water when it will save American lives?

Let me recommend a good book, if your into sex drugs and sex. It's titled The Senator My Ten Years with Ted Kennedy by Richard Burke.

Let's say for a second that Teddy the Great can get right with God and actually realizes that he is not God, how do you think that meeting with Mary Jo might go down, so to speak?

God: Teddy, this is Mary Jo

Teddy: Hi Mary Jo, you look vaguely familiar did you just step out of the shower.

Mary Jo: No Teddy don't you remember you drowned me.

Teddy: Well Ah.... Mary Jo there's been quite a few scotches under the bridge but I don't remember that.

Mary Jo: I know Teddy I forgive you.

Teddy: Well Ahh...... as I said I don't recall that. Who's the cute little boy Mary Jo?

Mary Jo: That's your little boy Teddy don't you see the resemblance???

Teddy: Ahhh..... he does have the Kennedy jaw. What's he doing here and who are all the other little ones laughing and playing so innocent, they're beautiful. There are millions of them.

Mary Jo: They all want to spend a little time bouncing on your knee Teddy, and thank you for them getting here so early in life. So Teddy how did you get to the other side of the river? What did you choose row vs wade?

Teddy: Mary Jo, where would one get a scotch in this fine establishment?

Mary Jo: See those two nice looking guys with Marilyn Monroe, there heading in that direction.

Teddy: They look familiar too..... see you around Mary Jo, I've got to wet my whistle.

Subject: Happy Birthday, Mary Jo!

Happy Birthday, Mary Jo.

Friends and fellow Americans, Yesterday, from her grave, I thought I heard Mary Jo Kopechne (July 26, 1940 - July 18, 1969) call. "On Thursday, I would have been 67 years old. As my only wish, please refresh your memory of me and my murderer."

When Senator Ted Kennedy was merely just another Democrat bloating on Capitol Hill on behalf of liberal causes, it was perhaps excusable to ignore his deplorable past. But now that he has become the leading Democrat attack dog, positioning himself as Washington's leading arbiter of truth and integrity, the days for such indulgence are now over. It's time for good Americans to stand up and remind our countrymen why this man had to abandon his own presidential bid in 1980.

It's time to say the words "Mary Jo Kopechne" out loud. As is often the case, Republicans have deluded themselves into thinking that most Americans already know the story of how the "Conscience of the Democrat Party" left Miss Kopechne behind to die in the waters underneath the Edgartown, Massachusetts, Bridge on July 17th, 1969 after a night of drinking and partying with the young blond campaign worker.

But most Americans under 40 have never heard that story, or the details of how Kennedy swam to safety, and then tried to get his cousin Joe Garghan to say he, Garghan, was behind the wheel.

Those young voters don't know how Miss Kopechne, trapped inside Kennedy's Oldsmobile, gasped for air until she finally died (some medical experts saying two and one-half hours later), while this leading Democrat Iraq war critic rushed back to his family's compound to formulate the best alibi he could think of.

Do they know that she was pregnant with Dipsh_ts offspring you definitely don't want to be their enemy. Nor does Generation X know how Kennedy was thrown out of Harvard on his ear 15 years earlier for paying a fellow student to take his Spanish final. Nor why the US Army denied him a commission because he cheated on tests.

As they listen to the Democrats' "Liberal Lion" accuse President Bush of "telling lie after lie after lie" to get America to go to war in Iraq, young voters don't know about that notorious 1991 Easter weekend in Palm Beach, when Uncle Teddy rounded up his nephews for a night on the town, an evening that ended with one of them credibly accused of rape.

It's time for Republicans and Democrats with a soul to state unabashedly that they will no longer "go along with the gag" when it comes to Uncle Ted's rants about deception and moral turpitude inside the Bush White House. And if the Republicans don't, let's do it ourselves by passing this forgotten disgrace around the Internet to wake up memories of what a fraud and fake Teddy really is. The Democrat Party should be ashamed to employ this national disgrace from Massachusetts as their spokesman!

Revisit the cause of the Muslim War

This should be read by everyone before they vote!

This is serious and needs to be read and sent on. We can't just sit on our duff. SEND ON, SEND ON, AGAIN, AND AGAIN. For what it's worth......This is the most cogent and powerful essay on the threat of Islamic terrorism I have seen.

Dr. Vernon Chong. It is without a doubt the most articulate and convincing writing I have read regarding the War in Iraq . If you have any doubts please open your mind to his essay and give it a fair evaluation. It's also eerily applicable to other current issues such as Iran 's nuclear program, immigration, NAFTA's impact on American jobs, trade deficits, etc.. I had no idea who Dr. Chong is, or the source of these thoughts, so when I received them I almost deleted them, as well-written as they are. But then I did a Google search on the Doctor and found him to be a retired Air Force surgeon and past commander of Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio . If you would like to see who this fellow is, go to this Air Force web site and look him up:

Subject: Muslims, terrorist and the USA : A different spin on Iraq war. This WAR is for REAL!Dr. Vernon Chong, Major General, USAF, Retired To get out of a difficulty, one usually must go through it. Our country is now facing the most serious threat to its existence, as we know it, that we have faced in your lifetime and mine (which includes WWII). The deadly seriousness is greatly compounded by the fact that there are very few of us who think we can possibly lose this war and even fewer who realize what losing really means.

First, let's examine a few basics:

1. When did the threat to us start? Many will say September 11, 2001 . The answer as far as the United States is concerned is 1979, 22 years prior to September 2001, with the following attacks on us:* Iran Embassy Hostages, 1979;* Beirut, Lebanon Embassy, 1983; * Beirut, Lebanon Marine Barracks, 1983; * Lockerbie , Scotland Pan-Am flight to New York 1988; * First New York World Trade Center attack 1993;* Dhahran , Saudi Arabia Khobar Towers Military complex 1996* Nairobi , Kenya US Embassy 1998; * Dares Salaam , Tanzania US Embassy 1998; * A! den, Yemen USS Cole 2000;* New York World Trade Center 2001;* Pentagon 2001.(Note that during the period from 1981 to 2001 there were 7,581 terrorist attacks worldwide.)

2. Why were we attacked? Envy of our position, our success, and our freedoms. The attacks happened during the administrations of Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton and Bush 2. We cannot fault either the Republicans or Democrats as there were no provocations by any of the presidents or their immediate predecessor, President Ford.

3. Who were the attackers? In each case, the attacks on the US were carried out by Muslims.

4. What is the Muslim population of the World?25%.

5. Isn't the Muslim Religion peaceful?Hopefully, but that is really not material. There is no doubt that the predominately Christian population of Germany was peaceful, but under the dictatorial leadership of Hitler (who was also Christian (?)), that made no difference. You either went along with the administration or you were eliminated. There were 5 to 6 million Christians killed by the Nazis for political reasons (including 7,000 Polish priests). (see http://www.Nazis.testimony.co.uk/7-a.htm )
Thus, almost the same number of Christians were killed by the Nazis, as the six million holocaust Jews who were killed by them, and we seldom heard of anything other than the Jewish atrocities. Although Hitler kept the world focused on the Jews, he had no hesitancy about killing anyone who got in his way of exterminating the Jews or of taking over the world - German, Christian or any others. Same with the Muslim terrorists. They focus the world on the US , but kill all in the way -- their own people or the Spanish, British, French or anyone else. The point here is that just like the peaceful Germans were of no protection to anyone from the Nazis, no matter how many peaceful Muslims there may be, they are no protection for us from the terrorist Muslim leaders and what they are fanatically bent on doing -- by their own pronouncements -- killing all of us "infidels." I don't blame the peaceful Muslims. What would you do if the choice was shut up or die?

6. So who are we at war with? There is no way we can honestly respond that it is anyone other than the Muslim terrorists. Trying to be politically correct and avoid verbalizing this conclusion can well be fatal. There is no way to win if you don't clearly recognize and articulate who you are fighting.

So with that background, now to the two major questions:

1. Can we lose this war?

2. What does losing really mean?

If we are to win, we must clearly answer these two pivotal questions:We can definitely lose this war, and as anomalous as it may sound, the major reason we can lose is that so many of us simply do not fathom the answer to the second question - What does losing mean? It would appear that a great many of us think that losing the war means hanging our heads, bringing the troops home and going on about our business, like post-Vietnam. This is as far from the truth as one can get. What losing really means is:We would no longer be the premier country in the world. The attacks will not subside, but rather will steadily increase. Remember, they want us dead, not just quiet. If they had just wanted us quiet, they would not have produced an increasing series of attacks against us, over the past 18 years. The plan was, clearly, for terrorists to attack us until we were neutered and submissive to them. We would, of course, have no future support from other nations, for fear of reprisals and for the reason that they would see; we are impotent and cannot help them. They will pick off the other non-Muslim nations, one at a time. It will be increasingly easier for them.

They already hold Spain hostage. It doesn't matter whether it was right or wrong for Spain to withdraw its troops from Iraq . Spain did it because the Muslim terrorists bombed their train and told them to withdraw the troops. Anything else they want Spain to do will be done. Spain is finished.

The next will probably be France . Our one hope on France is that they might see the light and realize that if we don't win, they are finished too, in that they can't resist the Muslim terrorists without us. However, it may already be too late for France . France is already 20% Muslim and fading fast!Without our support Great Britain will go too.

Recently I read that there are more mosques in England than churches. If we lose the war, our production, income, exports and way of life will all vanish as we know it. After losing, who would trade or deal with us if they were threatened by the Muslims. If we can't stop the Muslim terrorists, how could anyone else?

The radical Muslims fully know what is riding on this war, and therefore are completely committed to winning, at any cost. We better know it too and be likewise committed to winning at any cost. Why do I go on at such lengths about the results of losing? Simple. Until we recognize the costs of losing, we cannot unite and really put 100% of our thoughts and efforts into winning. And it is going to take that 100% effort to win. So, how can we lose the war?Again, the answer is simple. We can lose the war by "imploding." That is, defeating ourselves by refusing to recognize the enemy and their purpose, and really digging in and lending full support to the war effort. If we are united, there is no way that we can lose. If we continue to be divided, there is no way that we can win!

Let me give you a few examples of how we simply don't comprehend the life and death seriousness of this situation.President Bush selects Norman Mineta as Secretary of Transportation. Although all of the terrorist attacks were committed by Muslim men between 17 and 40 years of age, Secretary Mineta refuses to allow profiling. Does that sound like we are taking this thing seriously?

This is war! For the duration, we are going to have to give up some of the civil rights we have become accustomed. We had better be prepared to lose some of our civil rights temporarily or we will most certainly lose all of them permanently. And don't worry that it is a slippery slope. We gave up plenty of civil rights during WWII, and immediately restored them after the victory and in fact added many more since then.

Do I blame President Bush or President Clinton before him?No, I blame us for blithely assuming we can maintain all of our Political Correctness, and all of our civil rights during this conflict and have a clean, lawful, honorable war. None of those words apply to war. Get them out of your head. Some have gone so far in their criticism of the war and/or the Administration that it almost seems they would literally like to see us lose. I think some actually do, I hasten to add that this isn't because they are disloyal. It is because they just don't recognize what losing means. Nevertheless, that conduct gives the impression to the enemy that we are divided and weakening. It concerns our friends, and it does great damage to our cause.

Of more recent vintage, the uproar fueled by the politicians and media regarding the treatment of some prisoners of war, perhaps exemplifies best what I am saying. We have recently had an issue, involving the treatment of a few Muslim prisoners of war, by a small group of our military police. These are the type prisoners who just a few months ago were throwing their own people off buildings, cutting off their hands, cutting out their tongues and otherwise murdering their own people just for disagreeing with Saddam Hussein. And just a few years ago these same type prisoners chemically killed 400,000 of their own people for the same reason. They are also the same type of enemy fighters, who recently were burning Americans, and dragging their charred corpses through the streets of Iraq . And still more recently, the same type of enemy that was and is providing videos to all news sources internationally, of the beheading of American prisoners they held. Compare this with some of our press and politicians, who for several days have thought and talked about nothing else but the "humiliating" of some Muslim prisoners -- not burning them, not dragging their charred corpses through the streets, not beheading them, but "humiliating" them. Can they be for real?

The politicians and pundits have even talked of impeachment of the Secretary of Defense. If this doesn't show the complete lack of comprehension and understanding of the seriousness of the enemy we are fighting, the life and death struggle we are in and the disastrous results of losing this war, nothing can. To bring our country to a virtual political standstill over this prisoner issue makes us look like Nero playing his fiddle as Rome burned -- totally oblivious to what is going on in the real world. Neither we, nor any other country, can survive this internal strife. Again I say, this does not mean that some of our politicians or media people are disloyal. It simply means that they are absolutely oblivious to the magnitude of the situation we are in and into which the Muslim terrorists have been pushing us, for many years. These people are a serious and dangerous liability to the war effort. We must take note of who they are and get them out of office.

Remember, the Muslim terrorists stated goal is to kill all infidels! That translates into ALL non-Muslims -- not just in the United States , but throughout the world. We are the last bastion of defense. We have been criticized for many years as being 'arrogant.' That charge is valid. We are arrogant in that we believe that we are so good, powerful and smart, that we can win the hearts and minds of all those who attack us, and that with both hands tied behind our back, we can defeat anything bad in the world! We can't! If we don't recognize this, our nation as we know it will not survive, and no other free country in the world will survive if we are defeated. And finally, name any Muslim countries throughout the world that allow freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, equal rights for anyone -- let alone everyone, equal status or any status for women, or that have been productive in one single way that contributes to the good of the world.

This has been a long way of saying that we must be united on this war or we will be equated in the history books to the self-inflicted fall of the Roman Empire . If, that is, the Muslim leaders will allow history books to be written or read.

If we don't win this war right now, keep a close eye on how the Muslims take over France in the next 5 years or less. They will continue to increase the Muslim population of France and continue to encroach little by little, on the established French traditions. The French will be fighting among themselves, over what should or should not be done, which will continue to weaken them and keep them from any united resolve. Doesn't that sound eerily familiar?

Democracies don't have their freedoms taken away from them by some external military force. Instead, they give their freedoms away, politically correct piece by politically correct piece. And they are giving those freedoms away to those who have shown, worldwide that they abhor freedom and will not apply it to you or even to themselves, once they are in power.

Muslims have universally shown that when they have taken over, they then start brutally killing each other over whom will be the few who control the masses. What is happening in Iraq is a good example. Will we ever stop hearing from the politically correct, about the "peaceful Muslims"? I close on a hopeful note, by repeating what I said above. If we are united, there is no way that we can lose. I hope now, after the election, the factions in our country will begin to focus on the critical situation we are in, and will unite to save our country. It is your future we are talking about! Do whatever you can to preserve it. I reiterate. A national election is months away. After reading the above, we all must do this not only for ourselves, but our children, our grandchildren, our country and the world. Whether Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal and that includes the Politicians and media of our country and the free world! Please forward this to any you feel may want, or NEED to read it. Our "leaders" in Congress ought to read it, too. There are those that find fault with our country, but it is obvious to anyone who truly thinks through this, that we must UNITE! Lastly, I wish to add: At the risk of offending someone, I sincerely think that anyone who rejects this as just another political rant, or doubts the seriousness of this issue or just deletes it without sending it on, is part of the problem. Let's quit laughing at and forwarding the jokes and cartoons which denigrate and ridicule our leaders in this war against terror. They are trying to protect the interests and well being of the US and it's citizens. Best we support them.

Rant # 16 May 7, 2008 Andy Griffiths teeth?

Welcome to the first blog. Up until now it's been an email list that has gone out to friends family and by invitation as it was forwarded around the country. Yesterday was primary day here in North Carolina, so a little recap.

Who Mark voted for:

I voted for the best Candidate for President on my ballot yesterday. He also happened to be a black man who never ran on his color, and has never been in a racist conflict like the Democrat, white Muslim, that happens to be half black, Barrack Hussein Obama.

Alan Keyes was the best man on my ballot. More conservative than McCain and Huckabee, and not quite as strange as Ron Paul.

Chicken Strip update;

Well Chicken Strip beat Joe McLaughin for the NC District 3 seat. We can start today to drop Chicken Strip in the grease.

Support the Democrat running against him and that will create a problem for the Democrats. Do they support the Republican they bought and paid for, or their fellow Democrat. A mini Operation Chaos, and what do we really lose if we lose Walter?

His sign says Freedom Fries. Back when he was a trying to act conservative he berated the French for their lack of help in Iraq. He took a tough stance and introduced a bill to change the name of French Fries to Freedom Fries. Way to go Walter.

NC Lt. Governor Race.

Robert Pittenger did win the Lt. Governor Republican Primary. He is the best candidate for this job this fall. He won with such dominance it makes one wonder if he shouldn't have been running for Governor.

Andy Griffith's teeth:

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2008/04/andy-griffith-bev-perdue-north-carolina.php

Watch the video above.

I know this goes nationwide and maybe into other countries, but did anyone in NC but me notice how Andy of Mayberry's lower teeth fit. Every time I saw the commercial for Bev Perdue for Governor I slid closer to the TV, because in HDTV you almost think they are going to fall out right at your feet. I took to wearing a ball glove every time it played. Polident Andy.

Funny of the day from Little Bobby Lee Bollinger Jr. Our Resident Lib Attorney:

A driver is stuck in a traffic jam going into Downtown Chicago.

Nothing is moving north or south.

Suddenly a man knocks on his window.

The driver rolls down his window and asks, 'What happened; what's the hold up?'

Terrorists have kidnapped Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rosie O'Donnell, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton.

They are asking for a $10 million ransom. Otherwise, they are going to douse them with gasoline and set them on fire.

We are going from car to car, taking up a collection.

The driver asks, On average, how much is everyone giving?

About a gallon.

Site is still under construction but feel free to make suggestions.

Mark's Rant # 15 Mar. 14, 2008 Racism's Home

Thanks Joy for the following video of Pastor Manning. A must see!!! He is wound pretty tight. It is very entertaining and informative. He does make a very good point on affirmative action though. I am surprised more blacks don't realize the hipocrisy of affirmative action. Pastor Manning must have also read Mark's Rant # 14 where I proved Hussein was a white guy. One of my left wing liberal friends from California said keep the rants coming so here you go Emil. I added some names to the list, as always the Rant is free and just hit reply to have your name removed.

My farewell to my fellow Tycotanic letter should be out shortly for those of you anticipating it. It will Post on this Blog for the world to see.

Watch the 3 videos and I'll have a little rant at the end.

Obama's Bra 54 Double "D".

Now wasn't that fun? I'm not really one to speak but I believe there has been a ham biscuit or two in his mouth.

The following is a video of Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Also a must see!!! This was Barack Hussein Obama's minister at his church and he still is a religious consultant to his campaign as of yesterday.

"Hillary ain't never been called a ------

Didn't you just feel the love.

The following is a video of Geraldine Ferraro being offended. Ever notice how easily offended the Democrats are. You can't swing a dead cat without offending a Democrat. I even heard one get offended by being called a Democrat. She wanted to be called Democratic. I was offended.

Mark's Rant #15

Well well well it sure is going to be hard for the Democrats to play the sex and race cards after the primary's. After all these years of being called racist for not belonging to the Democrat Party the truth comes out. The true home of racism is the Democrat Party. Now I'm a registered Republican who is more of a Libertarian than a Republican. John McCain is way to liberal for me, but these Democrats are greasing the skids for his liberal butt to slide right into the oval office. I'll wager you this though, McCain will get the highest percentage of the black vote ever if he faces Hillary, and he may do the same against Hussein. One other wager I can assure you of is come November the country loses no matter which of the three gets in.

Mark's Rant # 14 Jan.20, 2008 Is Obama black???

Welcome back and hello to several new subscribers to Mark's Rant.

Rant # 14 will address the burning issue, is Barrack Hussein Obama black? Who do I endorse for the Democrats nomination, and last but certainly not least an update on Congressman Chicken Strip Jones from NC District 3.

As always, it's worth what you pay for it and hopefully you will get something to think about and a chuckle or two.

Is Hussein black?

Hillary certainly thinks so as she and Bill and their minions landed blows on the black man all week, and then they called for a truce before the Nevada debate. Good timing. I kept waiting all week for someone to charge her with a hate crime. It was surreal to see the first black President take swipes at the man who aspires to be the second black President. I thought it was supposed to be the Republicans who were the racist, but the truth comes out. All week long I watched the Democrats suffer with their not so veiled racism. It's not over yet either, they will beat the black man some more, but they can't injure him to bad because he has to be her running mate.

Let me ask this question. If you have half a million dollars, are you a millionaire?

Why no you certainly are not.

Well then, why do blacks get to claim Halle Berry and Barack Hussein Obama. They both have white mothers who were more involved in there lives than the black men who fathered them.

I am claiming them as white. I have as much right to my claim as do blacks, or more realistically the mainstream press. Using the same logic, aside from his claims to be a Christian, Hussein is at least 50% Muslim and if you count his step-father he is 67% Muslim, so why doesn't the press call him Muslim if they are going to call him black.

If Hussein is elected he is actually just another in a long line of white guys to hold the office. I'll make this deal though. I will not argue that Hussein is not black if I get to keep Halle Berry. Sounds like a fair trade to me.

Who's Mark's Rants endorsing for the Democrat Nomination.

Go ahead and guess. I bet you will be wrong. There is only one clear candidate if the Democrats must win. The clear best candidate for the office, for which most important charge is that of National Defense, is Hillary. Hussein and Haircut constantly compete to see has the smallest testicles. They argue over the inanities of negotiating with terrorist. Duh, they are freakin' terrorist. Strap a pair own boys and go sit down with Osama maybe he won't need all 72 of those virgins after all.

Worse yet what if the 72 virgins are males? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Let me propose a situation for you. Let's say the terrorist decide we are weak enough to hit again and that even if they can't win a war they can send our financial markets into turmoil and cripple us. They can get that idea any day of the week watching all the Democrats and a few weak kneed Republicans on C-Span. Who do you want in charge of defense of the country, two guys competing for the biggest sissy or the girl. I want the girl, because in order to prove she is the right man for the job she is going to have to kick some rear end. If she doesn't she will be called the girl. The other two would be sitting in the corner wringing their hands and wetting their pants.

As for your pocketbook. There is no difference in the three, they are all going to raise your taxes. If you are middle class or better you can count on a big tax increase. They all three are as bold about that as Dull Walter Mondale was in '84 against Reagan. They all believe the government knows how to spend your money better than you do.

Healthcare? If your going to be sick, try to squeeze it in before 1-20-09 when I think they inaugurate the new president. If you want to see national healthcare stop by a VA Hospital, that will give you an idea of what's in your future.

Chicken Strip update.

Well you regulars know I'm no fan of Walter "Chicken Strip" Jones Congressman NC District 3. He is a liberal hiding out as a Republican. I have to give Ol' Freedom Fry credit though as his wussieness actually gave birth to the Rant.

I think I may have told you he has a conservative challenger for his seat. That Man is Joe McLaughlin. A retired military man who will do the right thing for that part of the state and our country. I am supplying a link to his website so that you can see what a real Republican/ Conservative should look and sound like. Send him a few bucks if you are so inclined.

http://www.joeforcongress.com/home.php

My friend Robert Pittenger has decided to run for Lieutenant Governor also, pay attention when you hear his name for those of you in NC.

Mark's Rant # 13 Dec.23, 2007 Merry Tossmas

Mark, I get a kick out of reading your stuff. Very insightful, and humorous. Glad to her Steven will be home soon.
Please tell him we are thinking about him, and appreciate his service to our great nation. I know you must be
proud. Anyway, look forward to the blog. It has been an honor knowing you as a friend all these years.

Mark's Rant # 13 Merry Tossmas, I hope you all get your stockings stuffed. Special Mega "Holiday" issue.

Well, I think I will start a blog. I have had so many requests to do so. I have never even looked at a blog so this may take me a little while. I think that we are right at 100 subscribers and if I move to the blog format for issue 14 then there will be no need to cancel your subscription you can choose to read or not to read. We still only have the one guy that canceled before he was actually added. I still want you to forward me your emails as you can see below I used them from 3 sources and they all get credit.

I appreciate all the forwarding. Rant #11 is still passing through police departments in the State of NC and apparently is being appreciated by the fine men and women of Law Enforcement. Hope that helps the next time I'm doing 60 in a 45. Make sure to look at all the Christmas issue contains. I think all the different colors below indicate a different attachment or link.

This issue of the rant has some things I have harvested from past emails. They don't require a lot of Rant. Hey it's Christmas, give me a break. Thanks go out to Skip Morgan for a couple of the contributions. Skip sent me the Stuck on Stupid picture below. Remember, I think that quote came out of the Katrina hurricane when some dumb AP reporter, (that was redundant wasn't it?) kept grilling a military man about something, and he asked the reporter if he was stuck on stupid. My only question is, looking at the picture, how do you tell which one is stuck on stupid? Thanks also to Skip for another new subscriber.

The Mark Seavey video is a classic and came from Skip also. Seavey does a great job of silenceing Congressmen Jacka_s Murtha PA. and Jim "Dumba_s" Moran VA. Make sure you watch it. "You can't handle the truth" congressmen. By the way Walter Chicken Strip Jones from R.NC District 3 has never responded to my email. He also has a conservative challenger for his seat. I will try to get you some of that info in Rant # 14.

http://www.citizenlink.org/Stoplight/A000005834.cfm

I hope this link works for you. If not you can cut and paste it in your internet browser and go to the Merry Tossmas video. My brother Steven sent this. It's pretty funny and true, especially if you take Christmas Day off and celebrate with frinds and family. If you don't then you may be the happy holiday sort.

Further down the page is one that has been around a couple of years. I think I got it from Tim Blackwell first a year or so ago. I got it from Cliff Fincher and maybe a couple of others this year. It is a classic also. Seasonal Greetings to my Democrat and Republican friends. Enjoy.

At the very bottom of the page is The W in Christmas that came in from my friend Emil Germanov out in California. It's a pretty good read also, and thanks Emil.

Mark's Rant:

So Merry Christmas! Here at Mark's Rant I really don't care if you are offended by Merry Christmas, as a matter of fact, if you are offended then I'm offended that you are offended, so there!

My brother Steven is on his way back from Afghanistan for his two week leave and hopefully will be in sometime on Tossmas Eve. Thanks to all who have said a prayer and asked about him, and a very Cherry Mistmus to you and our's, and a snappy poo ear too. That's for my brother.

See you next year on the Rant!

For My Democrat Friends: "Please accept, with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country, nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. And without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishes. By accepting these greetings you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for herself or himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher."

For My Republican Friends: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The "W" in ChristmasEach December, I vowed to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience.I had cut back on nonessential obligations - extensive card writing, endlessbaking, decorating, and even overspending.Yet still, I found myself exhausted, unable to appreciate the preciousfamily moments, and of course, the true meaning of Christmas. My son, Nicholas, was in kindergarten that year. It was an exciting seasonfor a six year old. For weeks, he'd been memorizing songs for his school's
"Winter Pageant."I didn't have the heart to tell him I'd be working the night of theproduction. Unwilling to miss his shining moment, I spoke with his teacher. She assured me there'd be a dress rehearsal the morning of the presentation. All parents unable to attend that evening were welcome to come then.Fortunately, Nicholas seemed happy with the compromise. So, the morning of the dress rehearsal, I filed in ten minutes early, founda spot on the cafeteria floor and sat down. Around the room, I saw severalother parents quietly scampering to their seats. As I waited, the studentswere led into the room. Each class, accompanied by their teacher, satcross-legged on the floor. Then, each group, one by one, rose to performtheir song.Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holidayas "Christmas," I didn't expect anything other than fun, commercialentertainment songs of reindeer, Santa Claus, snowflakes and good cheer. So, when my son's class rose to sing, "Christmas Love," I was slightly takenaback by its bold title.Nicholas was aglow, as were all of his classmates, adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters, and bright snowcaps upon their heads. Those in the front row- center stage - held up large letters, one by one, tospell out the title of the song.As the class would sing "C is for Christmas," a child would hold up theletter C. Then, "H is for Happy," and on and on, until each child holding uphis portion had presented the complete message, "Christmas Love."The performance was going smoothly, until suddenly, we noticed her; a small, quiet, girl in the front row holding the letter "M" upside down - totallyunaware her letter "M" appeared as a "W".The audience of 1st through 6th graders snickered at this little one'smistake. But she had no idea they were laughing at her, so she stood tall, proudly holding her "W".Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continueduntil the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together.A hush came over the audience and eyes began to widen. In that instant, we understood the reason we were there, why we celebratedthe holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purposefor our festivities. For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear:"C H R I S T W A S L O V E"

Mark's Rant # 12 Dec.14, 2007 Beach Houses and Al Gore

This is another one in the format of several Fraternity Brothers sitting around drinking a beer or 6. Eric Heavener has attached some great links that debunk / explain global warming. If you by chance wasted an hour and a half watching the Nobel Peace Prize winning scientist Al "Don't Get Snitty With Me" Gore's movie, you owe it to yourself to spend a few minutes here.

A quick aside, isn't he the same Al Gore whose father was a Democrat Senator from Tennessee that voted against civil rights for blacks? Why yes he is.

We have had our first cancellation. He cancelled before he actually got added to the list, but full disclosure here. He was overcome by all the news coming at him from various sources. Now I take that as a compliment because while I may supply some things you haven't had time to find for yourself, I certainly had not considered "The Rant" to be a news source. Thanks Betty for the addition and subtraction and tell "bngmoore" he will be missed.

The last Rant #11 which I thought was OK, must have been a little better than I thought. We got a couple of new members and numerous comments in support. Keep those cards and letters coming folks. I guess the second amendment is alive and well among a fair number of Ranters. Emily Raible even asked if she could start posting them on her myspace page. I love young folks that are intelligent.

As always, it's worth what you are paying for it and you can be removed from the distribution list by sending an email. However, the first to cancel spot has now been taken.

Special Thanks again to Eric for digging up all the links.

More facts to debunk the global warming scandal. As I've said and will continue to say, HUMANS have little effect on global warming - it's a scam, just like Global COOLING was in 1972.

SCAM ALERT: READ THIS ONE - http://www.worldclimatereport.com/index.php/2005/05/27/antarctic-ice-a-global-warming-snow-job/

One thing that the global warming ZEALOTS have forgotten to tell you is that the Antarctic now has MORE ICE THAN EVER BEFORE. Guess it's the bad ole USA heatin' up the joint on the north side of the planet. They didn't tell ya that on CNN did they they?

THE GLOBAL WARMING ZEALOTS ARE GENIUSES AND THEY HAVE ONLY ONE CONCERN - POLITICIZING AND POCKETING MILLIONS IN GOVERNMENT RESEARCH GRANT MONEY BY IMPLEMENTING THE SINGLE BIGGEST SCAM IN THE HISTORY OF THE PLANET.

Here’s another story:

Hmmm, this guy from MIT sees it the same way and he's from one of the most liberal colleges on the planet..

Finally, some people are coming to their senses about this crazy shit. To think that humans have 'destroyed' the climate in 100 years of industrialization is sheer idiocy.

Well, we liberals are generous folks, so we will go ahead and save the world from the excesses of your hubris and the cumulative destructive human activity of so many, and we will even let you right wing nutcases continue to live in it, in spite of your failure to contribute to the solution, or even to acknowledge that the problem existed.

Sadness, you voting for Huckabee? He does not believe in evolution. He thinks the earth is 6000 years old and that humans coexisted with dinosaurs. He is anti-science in general, and probably flunked 8th grade science, if he got that far in school to begin with. He may be your kind of President. God help the rest of us, though, if he becomes the President.

Oh, and by the way, I believe most of the coastal areas used to be under water some years back. Then we had this major climate change called the Ice Age that froze up much of the world's water causing the oceans to recede. That ice has not fully melted thereby preventing the oceans from going completely back to their original levels. I read the other day that THAT major climate change was caused by the over excesses of Republican dinosaurs who were driving some really big SUVs and smoking and farting too much. They got what they deserved as we will.

Hey didn't he invent the Internet too? Why yes he did. Remember 30 or so years ago when global cooling was going to make us extinct. I believe it was a cover on Time Magazine.

Seriously if anyone is interested in the properties they throw off about 100K a year in rent and I've got room in my Expedition to take you down and show them to you. I'll even spring for some beano. Now that I'm joining those of you wetting your pants and hiding under the table, I'll let them go for a fire sale price of 3M. I'm such an idiot, I can't believe I ever bought them. Kevin tells Mark he's sorry:
Mark,
Sorry to have implied that a you are an idiot. The definition of a conservative is by its very nature contrary to that of an idiot. Let me restate what I meant by idiot: an idiot buys property on a sandbar (or in a coastal city below sea level) without insurance and EXPECTS the government to bail them out when a hurricane comes and washes the dirt out from under it.

Mark's Rant # 11 Dec.13, 2007 VA Tech Shooting

The Rant took a little break and several folks thought I had quit or that they had inadvertently been deleted. I promise you will never be deleted until you ask to be. So far no one has asked to be.

I have been winding up a 20 year ride on the Tycotanic and just haven't had the time or motivation to tee some Rants up for your reading pleasure. We should be back in business now. Once again the Rant is worth every penny you are paying for it, and all you have to do to be dropped from the subscription list is ask to be, there will be no questions asked. I can tell it's worth every penny because the biggest "I drink the Liberal Kool Aide" subscriber I have was one of those who inquired if I had closed up shop.

Please check if you forwarded the rant on to friends and family, because I think I have added everyone that requested to be added so far. I think we are up to about 75 people and 7 states and 2 countries if you count that hell hole Afghanistan. Say a prayer for my brother Steven and his friend Dat in Afghanistan.

I will announce subscriptions and cancellations just to show up my local newspaper the Charlotte Perturber. They are in steady spiral downwards in subscriptions in spite of our favorite #1 Lib subscriber (BLB) being published on the editorial pages on average several times a year, or maybe it's because he is published there. I have a little of his handiwork above the urinal in my basement, so take a peek and a leak when you are by the cabin. We have grown like crazy from a handful at first to now and we will eclipse 100 by Rant #12.

Watch the video attached to the link below and then I'll give a little Rant.

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/14817480/detail.html

Mark's Rant,

Learn something VA Tech, and all you Omaha Nebraska like shopping malls that don't allow concealed carry. What do you think the parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, friends, boyfriends and girlfriends were thinking as their loved ones were being executed systematically? I bet the thought, I hope no one else on campus or in the mall has a gun, ever crossed the victims minds. I would venture a guess that a fair number wished they had a chance to fight back. Unfortunately the law abiding will always lose while we have the feel good laws and rules. Never show up to a gun fight with a book bag or a Victoria's Secret pair of panties, your chances are not that good. I heard an interview from a student at VA Tech who had a concealed carry permit but could not carry on campus. He had been protesting the college policy to no avail. Who looks like they should be teaching now?

Let's pass a few more gun laws to keep guns off campus and out of the mall. We have plenty of evidence of their success so far. Better yet lets ban handguns entirely, that should take care of it. Truth is if you can't keep illegal aliens out of the country, or the planet from warming or cooling at it's will, you are only going to multiply the events mentioned above by multiples of 10's or 100's or 1000's, because you won't have anyone there to end the event. The "feel good" thing to do is pass a law, the right thing to do is eliminate the feel good laws and let those with the training protect the pansies so they can live to protest another day.

I carry a pistol with me. It is not concealed, so I am legal, I have no permit and usually it remains in the car, or the house I am in, so when the feel gooders sense a little disaster on the horizon feel free to scream like a little stuck pig and I will be there to keep you feeling good, at least you will still be alive to complain about me saving your whining butt.

Merry Christmas,

Mark

Mark's Rant # 10 Nov. 9, 2007 Beating a Lib with logic

This one is interesting. It's like sitting in a bar or restaurant and listening in on an argument at the next table.

Below is an email that apparently was set off by one of my Rants. My friend and one of my original subscribers sent it to me and I wrote a response I think she is either going to forward, or rework and send to him. I enjoyed responding and thought you might enjoy it also.

As always you are welcome to forward and if you feel the need to unsubscribe you will get a refund for the remainder of your subscription.

The email:

Betty, I think it's safe to say we don't agree on how this country is run. I am 100% for going after the bad guys, but on the other hand we Christians have a lot of blood on our hands from time past. I see this country hated around the world from the arrogance of our government's actions. We might not like how some people live or do in this world, but are we the almighty to dictate to everyone else on this earth. Do you think, just maybe we have caused this hate by thing we do or have done to others? If you and a neighbor were at odds over something and I sided with them wouldn't you take a dim view of our relationship, (Israel). Over the years we have tried to buy friends, it hasn't worked in the past and it won't in the future.
Just that you know where I am coming from, I'm pro-choice, I think stem cell research is necessary, birth control is the most important issue in the world today. Why do you think the world is in such a mess, too many people. The first billion people didn't happen until 1830-1850. Look at where we are now, six billion plus and counting, just how many more can live on this earth and have a decent chance of a good life style. We might try and treat where we live, (earth), with a little more respect.
Please just don't send we this extreme right BS, or religious chain letters, and I promise I won't send you pictures of women's breast.
That said I still love you as a friend. I do hope that in the not too distant future our government will start doing for the people and not special interest.

My Response:

Betty, I think it's safe to say we don't agree on how this country is run. I am 100% for going after the bad guys, Even if they are in Iraq? but on the other hand we Christians have a lot of blood on our hands from time past. And the Muslims have no blood on their hands.

I see this country hated around the world from the arrogance of our government's actions. Funny I see the Germans and the French both trying to make nice with us, and how did that work out for Spain to give in to the Muslim threat and remove their troops from Iraq can you say KABOOM, but really Bob who really cares what other countries think if you harbor terrorist you should get you ass kicked and who cares if the French all have their panties in a twist. Oh and by the way the French wouldn't participate in Iraq and they had a huge problem with local terrorism and violence from their Muslim citizens.

We might not like how some people live or do in this world, but are we the almighty to dictate to everyone else on this earth. Who were we bothering or dictating to on 9-11, and I agree we should stay out of Darfur.

Do you think, just maybe we have caused this hate by thing we do or have done to others? If you and a neighbor were at odds over something and I sided with them wouldn't you take a dim view of our relationship, (Israel). Frankly if you punch me in the nose I'm going kick your ass or die trying and don't care what your neighbor his dog or his goldfish think about it. That's the politically correct attitude that the Dick "the Turbin" Durbin, Harry "Surrender" Reid and Jackass Murtha have imposed on the troops by constantly parading to the floor of the House and Senate and spewing their hatred for the troops. That's why the troops have to ask permission to engage the bad guys.

Over the years we have tried to buy friends, it hasn't worked in the past and it won't in the future. Here you may have a good point. It did work out much better when we nuked Japan, look how friendly they are now.

Just that you know where I am coming from, I'm pro-choice, (as long as the choice is death?)

I think stem cell research is necessary, birth control is the most important issue in the world today. Why do you think the world is in such a mess, too many people. The first billion people didn't happen until 1830-1850. Look at where we are now, six billion plus and counting, just how many more can live on this earth and have a decent chance of a good life style. Take that up with Cina and India maybe we should dictate what they do?

We might try and treat where we live, (earth), with a little more respect. I have been meaning to talk to Al Gore about those $4000 a month power bills I've got a few carbon credits I can sell him just have him send me $3500 a month.

Please just don't send we this extreme right BS, or religious chain letters, and I promise I won't send you pictures of women's breast. Just have him send the breast pictures directly to me Betty, I will dispose of them properly.

That said I still love you as a friend. I do hope that in the not too distant future our government will start doing for the people and not special interest.

Mark's Rant # 9 Nov. 8, 2007 Bill Clinton's Underwear

Yesterdays Rant was a little somber. I like to laugh and today while reading about Hillary's campaign stiffing a single mom waitress out of a tip, I found what the Drudge Report dug up in 2000. I was reading it and highlighted a sentence below. Feel free to read the whole thing, or just read the highlighted sentence to see what the rant is about.

February 11, 2000It's all the buzz in Albion: Hillary stiffs a single mom By Barbara J. Saffir THE WASHINGTON TIMESALBION, N.Y.

Maybe it's no big deal elsewhere, but it's all the buzz in Albion. Hillary Rodham Clinton dropped into the Village House, a favorite diner in this upstate farming town, and ordered two orders of scrambled eggs, home fries and rye toast. So far, so good. The locals appreciate a hearty appetite. Her breakfast was on the house, and when she left the waitress, a single mom, found not a penny at her plate. The locals have been talking about little else since Tuesday, when she stopped for breakfast after making a speech about how New York's farmers "are really hurting these days. "Says Linda Ellis, a regular who voted for President Clinton and says she might vote for the first lady: "It's the little things you have to look at in a political campaign. "She is the first lady, but it doesn't feed her son," she said. The waitress, who makes less than the minimum wage and pays for her own health insurance, deserved a tip, she said.

Mrs. Clinton, who once declared a 15-cent income-tax deduction for a pair of her husband's undershorts that she had donated to charity, had dropped into the diner, halfway between Buffalo and Rochester, along with a dozen reporters in her motorcade.

It was her first public event since beginning her "official" candidacy Sunday at Purchase, N.Y., near her new $1.7 million Westchester County home. Mrs. Clinton, the beneficiary of extensive contributions from unions, is pushing to raise the minimum wage and make health insurance affordable. "She had two servings of eggs," said restaurant owner Alex Mitrousis. At first, she just ordered oatmeal to go but then she ordered scrambled eggs, home fries and rye toast. After she ate that, she ordered "two scrambled eggs with cheese," he said. "We're going to call it the first lady's special," he said. One order of "two large fresh eggs" with toast and ham, bacon or sausage costs $2.75. Mr. Mitrousis, who emigrated to the United States from Greece decades ago, says the first lady's failure to leave a tip does not bother him and that it was "an honor" to have the first lady stop there. He also noted that he enjoyed the publicity because many customers now ask for the table where Mrs. Clinton sat. He said he lost money during her visit, however, because regular patrons could not get in to the packed parking lot near the intersection of routes 31 and 98. Mr. Mitrousis said he did not charge Mrs. Clinton for the food she ordered herself during her visit with more than a dozen reporters and photographers in tow. Clinton campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson had no comment.

Mark's Rant: Don't you think she could have declared a little more in income-tax deductions for those undershorts? Apparently while in the Arkansas Governor's Mansion and the Oval Office there was a considerable amount of time that those undershorts were not even being used. I think she could have declared slightly less than 70 cents.

Senator Larry "I'm not gay. I have never been Gay" Craig who bought the tightie whities from Goodwill could not be reached. His wife said he had just left for the airport.

Mark's Rant # 8 Nov. 7, 2007 Eddie is dead

If you didn't click on the link last night, and you don't listen to WBT 1110 AM then this might come as a surprise.
Remember last night's issue, Rant # 7. Below is Eddie Jeffers picture. Eddie is dead. I believe he left behind a wife and to the best of my knowledge no kids, but two very proud parents, and at least one very proud citizen of the USA....... me.

Sgt. Eddie Jeffers was killed in Iraq on September 19, 2007. He was 23

Mark's Rant: Look at that kid, Look at that man. I'd love to be able to buy him a beer and tell him thanks. I am so proud that a man like that would protect me and my family so that we can do frivolous things like shoot of fireworks next 4th of July. My brother will be home from Afghanistan by then and I hope to have him and any of the troops that are within traveling distance come for that celebration. All subscribers will be invited also. I think we can buy a few beers, grill a few dogs and say" thank you" in a very real way to those who can attend. We can dedicate the party to Sgt. Jeffers and I think my brother has a few guys that he knew that have given the ultimate sacrifice. If we can get the names, and if we can find their families, I would love to extend the invitation to them. I would love to shake Eddies Dad's hand and give his mother a big hug, they may be needing that about then.

Numbers are growing and as always you just need to email me to say "no mas". No questions asked.

Mark's Rant # 7 Nov. 7, 2007 Sgt. Eddie Jeffers

http://marklevinfan.com/?p=2069 Link to the letter below

Update: That boneless Congressman Walter "Chicken Strip" Jones R.NC Dist.3 has still not replied to my email.

Mark's Rant: I've been looking for this for a couple of weeks because when I first heard it, it was so powerful. Please read. Sgt. Eddie Jeffers from Iraq. A letter he wrote to his Dad. What an American Hero. This compliments Bob Austins contribution from President Woody Wilson a couple of issues back.

The Letter
I stare out into the darkness from my post, and I watch the city burn to the ground. I smell the familiar smells, I walk through the familiar rubble, and I look at the frightened faces that watch me pass down the streets of their neighborhoods. My nerves hardly rest; my hands are steady on a device that has been given to me from my government for the purpose of taking the lives of others.
I sweat, and I am tired. My back aches from the loads I carry. Young American boys look to me to direct them in a manner that will someday allow them to see their families again…and yet, I too, am just a boy….my age not but a few years more than that of the ones I lead. I am stressed, I am scared, and I am paranoid…because death is everywhere. It waits for me, it calls to me from around street corners and windows, and it is always there.
There are the demons that follow me, and tempt me into thoughts and actions that are not my own…but that are necessary for survival. I’ve made compromises with my humanity. And I am not alone in this. Miles from me are my brethren in this world, who walk in the same streets…who feel the same things, whether they admit to it or not.
And to think, I volunteered for this…
And I am ignorant to the rest of the world…or so I thought.
But even thousands of miles away, in Ramadi, Iraq, the cries and screams and complaints of the ungrateful reach me. In a year, I will be thrust back into society from a life and mentality that doesn’t fit your average man. And then, I will be alone. And then, I will walk down the streets of America, and see the yellow ribbon stickers on the cars of the same people who compare our President to Hitler.
I will watch the television and watch the Cindy Sheehan's, and the Al Franken's, and the rest of the ignorant sheep of America spout off their mouths about a subject they know nothing about. It is their right, however, and it is a right that is defended by hundreds of thousands of boys and girls scattered across the world, far from home. I use the word boys and girls, because that’s what they are. In the Army, the average age of the infantryman is nineteen years old. The average rank of soldiers killed in action is Private First Class.
People like Cindy Sheehan are ignorant. Not just to this war, but to the results of their idiotic ramblings, or at least I hope they are. They don’t realize its effects on this war. In this war, there are no Geneva Conventions, no cease fires. Medics and Chaplains are not spared from the enemy’s brutality because it’s against the rules. I can only imagine the horrors a military Chaplain would experience at the hands of the enemy. The enemy slinks in the shadows and fights a cowards war against us. It is effective though, as many men and women have died since the start of this war. And the memory of their service to America is tainted by the inconsiderate remarks on our nation’s news outlets. And every day, the enemy changes…only now, the enemy is becoming something new. The enemy is transitioning from the Muslim extremists to Americans. The enemy is becoming the very people whom we defend with our lives. And they do not realize it. But in denouncing our actions, denouncing our leaders, denouncing the war we live and fight, they are isolating the military from society…and they are becoming our enemy.
Democrats and peace activists like to toss the word “quagmire” around and compare this war to Vietnam. In a way they are right, this war is becoming like Vietnam. Not the actual war, but in the isolation of country and military. America is not a nation at war; they are a nation with its military at war. Like it or not, we are here, some of us for our second, or third times; some even for their fourth and so on. Americans are so concerned now with politics, that it is interfering with our war.
Terrorists cut the heads off of American citizens on the internet…and there is no outrage, but an American soldier kills an Iraqi in the midst of battle, and there are investigations, and sometimes soldiers are even jailed…for doing their job.
It is absolutely sickening to me to think our country has come to this. Why are we so obsessed with the bad news? Why will people stop at nothing to be against this war, no matter how much evidence of the good we’ve done is thrown in their face? When is the last time CNN or MSNBC or CBS reported the opening of schools and hospitals in Iraq? Or the leaders of terror cells being detained or killed? It’s all happening, but people will not let up their hatred of President Bush. They will ignore the good news, because it just might show people that Bush was right.
America has lost its will to fight. It has lost its will to defend what is right and just in the world. The crazy thing of it all is that the American people have not even been asked to sacrifice a single thing. It's not like World War II, where people rationed food and turned in cars to be made into metal for tanks. The American people have not been asked to sacrifice anything. Unless you are in the military or the family member of a service member, it's life as usual…the war doesn’t affect you.
But it affects us. And when it is over and the troops come home and they try to piece together what’s left of them after their service…where will the detractors be then? Where will the Cindy Sheehan's be to comfort and talk to soldiers and help them sort out the last couple years of their lives, most of which have been spent dodging death and wading through the deaths of their friends? They will be where they always are, somewhere far away, where the horrors of the world can’t touch them. Somewhere where they can complain about things they will never experience in their lifetime; things that the young men and women of America have willingly taken upon their shoulders.
We are the hope of the Iraqi people. They want what everyone else wants in life: safety, security, somewhere to call home. They want a country that is safe to raise their children in. Not a place where their children will be abducted, raped and murdered if they do not comply with the terrorists demands. They want to live on, rebuild and prosper. And America has given them the opportunity, but only if we stay true to the cause and see it to its end. But the country must unite in this endeavor…we cannot place the burden on our military alone. We must all stand up and fight, whether in uniform or not. And supporting us is more than sticking yellow ribbon stickers on your cars. It’s supporting our President, our troops and our cause.
Right now, the burden is all on the American soldiers. Right now, hope rides alone. But it can change, it must change. Because there is only failure and darkness ahead for us as a country, as a people, if it doesn’t.
Let’s stop all the political nonsense, let’s stop all the bickering, let’s stop all the bad news and let’s stand and fight!Isn’t that what America is about anyway?Sergeant Eddie Jeffers is a US Army Infantryman serving in Ramada, Iraq.

Mark's Rant: What a hero. This is the type of American Hero that gives Jesse Jackson's Girl Cindy Sheehan, Senator Dick "The Turbin" Durbin, Senator Harry "Surrender" Reid, Johnny "$400 Haircut" Edwards, Hillary " Big Kahuna's" Clinton and we can never forget that blooming idiot from PA. Congressman Jackass Murtha the ability to stand up in Congress and spew the idiotic diatribes they do, criticizing the very people who would lay down their lives, for their freedom of stupid speech. Stay tuned for issue 8. Some interesting updates there. As always your comments are welcome. Send me an email to request to be deleted, and forward to those who you think might appreciate the Rant.

A Wake Up Call From Luke AFB, AZ Luke AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being surrounded by civilization that complains about the noise from the base and its planes, forgetting that it was there long before they were.
A Squadron Commander at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back.Apparently, an individual who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the local paper complaining about a group of F-16s
that disturbed his/her day at the mall. When that individual read the response from a Luke AFB officer, it must have stung quite a bit. The complaint: "Question of the day for Luke Air Force Base: Whom do we thank for the morning air show? Last Wednesday, at precisely 9:11 a.m.,
a tight formation of four F-16 jets made a low pass over Arrowhead Mall, continuing west over Bell Road at approximately 500 feet.
Imagine our good fortune! Do the Tom Cruise-wannabes feel we need this wake-up call, or were they trying to impress the cashiers at Mervyns early bird special? Any response would be appreciated."

The response: Regarding "A wake-up call from Luke's jets" (Letters, Thursday): On June 15, at precisely 9:12 a.m., a perfectly timed four-ship flyby of F-16s from the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base flew over the grave of Capt. Jeremy Fresques. Capt. Fresques was an Air Force officer who was previously stationed at Luke Air Force Base and was killed in Iraq on May 30, Memorial Day. At 9 a.m. on June 15, his family and friends gathered at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City to mourn the loss of a husband, son and friend.
Based on the letter writer's recount of the flyby, and because of the jet noise, I'm sure you didn't hear the 21-gun salute, the playing of taps, or my words to the widow and parents of Capt. Fresques as I gave them their son's flag on behalf of the President of the United States and all those veterans and servicemen and women who understand the sacrifices they have endured. A four-ship flyby is a display of respect the Air Force pays to those who give their lives in defense of freedom. We are professional aviators and take our jobs seriously, and on June 15 what the letter writer witnessed was four officers lining up to pay their ultimate respects. The letter writer asks, "Whom do we thank for the morning air show?"
The 56th Fighter Wing will call for you, and forward your thanks to the widow and parents of Capt. Fresques, and thank them for you, for it was in their honor that my pilots flew the most honorable formation of their lives. Lt. Col. Scott Pleus CO 63rd Fighter Squadron Luke AFB -- John Segreto MS 213/4 650-604-4112 NASA Ames Research Center Moffett Field CA, 94035

Mark's Rant:

Today's issue was sent in by Cliff Fincher. Another loyal subscriber or at least he hasn't asked to be removed yet. There is really not a lot to say other than what Lt. Col. Scott Pleus has to say. Just another hater of the military.

Thank God they are putting their lives on the line protecting that idiot's right to go to the mall and buy panties and boxers. Good thing, because the way they get them in such a twist they probably have to change them 2 or 3 times a day.

I often see F-16's other jets and copter's most of them flying at 500 feet or less, down the coastline, when at the beach. I usually walk out to the end of the boardwalk and wave at them and usually if they see me, they tip a wing to say thanks.

Wonder what it feels like to get athletes foot in the mouth.

God Bless the troops.

Mark

Oh and by the way, Republican Congressman Water "Chicken Strip" Jones NC District 3, has still not responded to my email.

As of this writing still no response from Congressman Walter "Chicken Strip" Jones R. NC District3.

Today's Rant addresses a comment made by a subscriber to rant number 4 below, and a response by Bob Austin. Good stuff. While subscriber clearly disagrees with me he did not cancel his subscribership yet. Also attached above is a Hillary Video sent in by Gary Stephens. It shows with friends like Bill and Hillary you don't have room for enemy's. I didn't realize you could get that far up under a bus.

Thanks for the kind comments I have been receiving encouraging me to go nationwide. I'll leave that up to you guys. Feel free to forward.

As always this is worth what you're paying for it and as always a simple email asking to be removed will be honored. Rants would then start tracking the subscribership of the Charlotte Pertuber.

Subscribers comment: And when, exactly, did Congress declare the current war?

Mark's Rant: To the best of my knowledge Congress does not have to declare war. I have been trying to get in touch with Harry Truman and John Kennedy who started the Korean War and the Vietnam Wars respectively, but they are not returning my calls. Even old Billy Boy bombed Serbia. (See History Lesson below) When and where did the President not become the Commander in Chief? Too many Chiefs spoil the battle..

You have a point and I fully expected a shrewd legal mind like yours to pick up on the fact that Woody the Lib did get congress to declare war, while Bush only got an authorization by the Congress. I also expected dangling that bait would give me a chance to set the hook. While only Hillary probably had the testicular fortitude to vote for war on the lib side of the isle, Barack Hussein Obama has beat her, and most of the other top tier candidates like test pilots at the Flyback factory with their vote to authorize the President to take any actions necessary to defend the US.

Pretty Boy John (who can't carry his own state) is constantly tripping over his hair care products trying to get in front of Obama and compete for King of the diminishing testicles. To borrow from a good oldie, in the land of no girls, the neutered man is Queen.

Subscribers comment: With all due respect to the soldiers who are doing their duty, comparing the genesis and righteousness of the current conflict favorably with that of WWI really does not hold up. I don’t think a reasonable and historically accurate analogy can be made between the US’s actions in WWI and the US’s actions in Iraq during the Bush administration. In WWI we went to France to save them from the German invaders. The current analogy? Iran, Syria or Jordan comes to the aid of Iraq to repel the American invaders. We may be on the wrong side of the battle lines relative to WWI.

Mark's Rant: I'll let Bob take it from here, and I'll finish with a snappy comeback.

Bob Austin replies to Subscriber:
Wow...I guess Subscriber missed the entire point of Wilson's comment. The point is not the validity of the wars themselves. It is about a spineless idiot (Debs) thinking that he can separate the duty to country the soldiers felt at that time to ( in his mind ) the wrongful entry of the US into WWI. No one can tell me that the US soldiers in the middle east are not effected by the debate in THEIR COUNTRY, about THEIR DUTY TO THEIR COUNTRY. Here is part of Wilson's Declaration of War speech to Congress
"But the right is more precious than peace, and we shall fight for the things which we have always carried nearest our hearts,-for democracy, for the right of those who submit to authority to have a voice in their own Governments, for the rights and liberties of small nations, for a universal dominion of right by such a concert of free peoples as shall bring peace and safety to all nations and make the world itself at last free. To such a task we can dedicate our Eves and our fortunes, every thing that we are and everything that we have, with the pride of those who know that the day has come when America is privileged to spend her blood and her might for the principles that gave her birth and happiness and the peace which she has treasured. God helping her, she can do no other."Woodrow Wilson

In my opinion, this is pretty current. So much for no analogy.

In regards to a declaration of war in Iraq, there was none....just a majority vote to give the President the authority to go to war as Commander in Chief

Mark's Rant: Take that.

Today's History Lesson.
Despite the constitutional requirement that Congress declare war, in practice, formal Declarations of War have occurred only upon prior request by the President.
After World War II, Congress voluntarily limited its use of the power to declare war to issuing authorizations of force. The War Powers Resolution of 1973 (Pub.L. 93-148) limits the power of the President to wage war without the approval of the Congress. The United States of America has formally declared war against foreign nations five separate times
[edit] Formal declarations of war
The table below gives the five separate times that the United States has formally declared war against foreign nations. The only country against which the United States has declared war more than once is Germany, against which the United States has declared war twice (though a case could be made for Hungary as a successor state to Austria-Hungary). Each time the declaration was requested by the President either in writing or in person before a joint session of Congress.
In World War II, the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbor on the previous day, December 7, 1941. On December 11, Hitler and Mussolini had already declared war on the United States before Congress declared war on them.[1][2]

[edit] United Nations resolutions
The Korean War was not a war authorized by the UP.SO. Congress. President Harry S. Truman cited authority under United Nations resolutions. Major US Military involvement began with Task Force Smith on July 5, 1950. A cease fire agreement was signed on July 27, 1953; however no formal treaty has been signed to this date.

[edit] Other undeclared wars
There are several undeclared "wars" missing from this list. The United States fought in Korea in 1870, the Philippine-American War from 1898-1903, and in Nicaragua in 1927.
The United State's longest war was fought between approximately 1840 and 1886 against the Apache Nation. During that entire 46-year period, there were never more than 90 days of "peace."
At least 28 conflicts and campaigns comprise the Indian Wars. These conflicts began with Europeans immigrating to North America long before the establishment of the United States of America. For the purpose of this discussion, the Indian Wars are defined as conflicts with the United States of America. They begin as one front in the American Revolutionary War in 1775 and are generally agreed upon as concluding with the surrender of the Apache chief Geronimo in 1886.

[edit] The War Powers Resolution
In 1973, following the withdrawal of most American troops from the Vietnam War, a debate emerged about the extent of presidential power in deploying troops without a declaration of war. A compromise in the debate was reached with the War Powers Resolution. This act clearly defined how many soldiers could be deployed by the President of the United States and for how long. It also required formal reports by the President to Congress regarding the status of such deployments, and limited the total amount of time that American forces could be employed without a formal declaration of war.
Although the constitutionality of the act has never been tested, it is usually followed, most notably during the Grenada Conflict, the Panamanian Conflict, the Somalia Conflict, the Gulf War, and the Iraq War. The only exception was President Clinton's use of U.S. troops in the 78-day NATO air campaign against Serbia during the Kosovo War. In all other cases, the President asserted the constitutional authority to commit troops without the necessity of Congressional approval, but in each case the President received Congressional authorization that satisfied the provisions of the War Powers Act.

This issue of Mark's rants includes a couple of guest contributors. Below is a passage from a book Bob Austin read. I'll rant after you read it. Further down the page is a video Kendall Polk sent to me. After reviewing it I found nothing objectionable and decided to include it along with another I found on the website.

Also attached for comedic relief, and to try and boost subscribers, is a very touching rendition of Hadji girl done by a brave marine in Iraq. Turn up your speakers and grab a box of tissue. Thank God they still have a sense of humor. Speaking of subscriber we are growing at a rapid pace thanks to you forwarding by you) to likeminded Americans. Why just last week Kendall invited his uncle to subscribe. We just haven't heard back yet.

Now for Bob's email:

Mark:

I always thought it interesting when someone says "I support the troops, not the war." That makes no sense. I just read a book called, "1920 The Year of Six Presidents" by David Pietrusza. There is a chapter in the book regarding Eugene Debs and his imprisonment for treason. He was a card carrying Socialist who promoted the ideas of the Russian revolution, and criticized Americas entry into World War I. He was convicted on 10 counts of sedition. Upon his entry in federal prison, many members of the Socialist Party petitioned Woodrow Wilson ( a very liberal Democrat ) to release him.

Wilson's response was ...."I will never consent to the pardon of this man". In addition, he said....

"While the flower of American youth was pouring out its blood to vindicate the cause of civilization, this man, Debs, stood behind the lines, sniping, attacking, and denouncing them. Before the war, he had a perfect right to exercise his freedom of speech and to express his own opinion, but once the Congress...declared war, silence on his part would have been the proper course to pursue. I know there will be a great deal of denunciation of me for refusing this pardon. They will say I am cold-blooded and indifferent, but it will make no impression on me. This man is a traitor to his country and he will never be pardoned during my administration."

Bob

Mark Rants: This week will be short and sweet. It's a damn good thing Woody is still not President or he would imprison over half the US Senate and all the candidates for President from 1 party and 1 from the other. He would also imprison that imposter Republican from NC District 3 Congressman Freedom Fry (aka Walter "Chicken Strip" Jones). If you need to refer back to issue 3 for names, be my guest. Old Woody was pretty tough for a Lib, my how times and Libs have changed.

By the way Congressman Chicken Strip never responded to my message to his website concerning his absolute cowardly and stupid response to the Rush Limbagh letter by Senator Harry "Surrender" Reid. I am still pretty sure why he didn't make it as a boxer.
